More specifically…
It has to do with a question I’ve received time and time again.

Sometimes I like to hop on the internet to see what the questions people have on meditation.
And this really interesting question had caught my attention.
Is there a trick to go into a deep meditation?
Here’s my take on it.
The short answer is a confident & resounding… yes.
And the reasoning behind it may surprise you.

After seeing a short documentary on television about a highly successful property developer who attributed his success in part down to meditation...
For months after, I tried various types of meditation techniques…
Guided, Vipassana, Mindfulness, Focussed, Movement, Mantra, Progressive, Loving Kindness...
(and the list goes on)
But none of them resonated with me.
I didn’t want something that was going to waste my time or be too ‘woo-woo’.
And I certainly didn’t want to do something that was going to take months to see any results that may or may not even happen!
Here’s where things got interesting…
This way of thinking actually worked out in my favor.
Because, just like you coming across my email list & website.
It has helped me to discover & attend my first transcendental meditation class…
I was absolutely blown away!
The fact that it only took twenty minutes to do…
Add to the fact that this was unlike anything I’ve ever been through… I mean EVER!
Which brings me back to the question at hand…
Is there a trick to go into a deep meditation?
Yes.
And my answer to that is to think of it like swimming.
Imagine that there’s an incredibly deep pool in front of you.
Now I want you to picture 2 situations.
In the first one…
You have never set foot in the water for decades and you don’t plan to for a while.
If someone pushed you into the pool, how would you react?
How would your respiratory system respond? Would all your muscles tense up instantly?
Perhaps you might fall into total panic & start splashing around for dear life?
Now for the second situation…
I want you to picture the complete opposite.
You’re an expert.
You’ve spent hours in the water.
And you know exactly what to expect & you’re comfortable going really deep for a long time.
How do you think you’d fare this time?
You probably won’t even need someone to push you in!
You’d feel just at home no matter how deep you go.
It’s the same with meditation…
You don’t have to be a master of any sort.
In fact, all you need is simply a little guidance on the ‘how’...
And you’d have everything you need.
The difference between your average meditation session and an incredibly deep one is simple.
It’s what you expect.
If you go in looking for the right things, you open yourself up to a world of possibilities.
You’ll suddenly find that it’s a lot easier to slip into a deep, blissful state…
And you’d also be getting into it in a faster time than usual.
